e-Biking in Cumbria with Paul Clow - Electric mountain bike challenge for Kendal and District Cycle Scene

Mountain bike enthusiasts and cyclists were given a rare opportunity to view and ride some of the world’s best performing electric mountain bikes in Eden over the bank holiday weekend says Paul Clow of Eden-e-Motion

Adrian Hewson of Scott Bikes brought the Scott eMTB demonstration fleet to Eden-e-Motion electric bike specialist shop in Hartley, Kirkby Stephen for a three-day event – and World Masters Cycle champion 2019, Nick Craig popped in to help riders set up their bikes with the professional touch. Nick commented on how impressed he was with the shop, the range of bikes and facilities and moreover the friendly welcome given.

A group of experienced cyclists from Kendal and District Cycle Scene were joined by Adrian for a challenging 23-mile ride, setting off from the shop and climbing to Nine Standards and Tailbrigg

It has been a fantastic three days, and to kick off with the ride was a great start. You can read all you like online about electric bikes but it is that experience of getting out onto the open tracks yourself that explains the great benefits of e-biking – it’s fun and you can do so much more.

The Scott demonstration event has been a great opportunity for local people to experience the mountain bike, adventure side of e-biking, and as experts in the field, we have been able to give advice on what’s the best bike for each individual person who came along.

We were sad to see this great demo fleet leave, however, we always have at least 25 bikes of all types to demo ride here in the shop. We are now preparing for Independent Bike Shop Week on May 4.
