THE team at award winning Shap Chippy have launched a second Fish and Chip Van serving the communities expanding across Cumbria.
This state of the art van has a new home in Appleby, at a purpose built unit which houses a professional prep kitchen.
Matt Phillips, co-owner of Shap Chippy said: “To be able to expand our new business during these crazy Covid times is a true blessing. The local communities have been such an amazing support and we wanted to bring Fish and Chips to more people each week, so we’ve got a second van on the road already after just 6 months!”
This Eden valley chip shop was awarded the honour of 2nd Best Fish and Chip Shop in the UK in the 2020 National Fish and Chip Awards earlier this year, and these pioneering owners have not stopped growing the brand and representing the Nations Favourite Dish at its finest. Having just been awarded the highest food hygiene rating of 5 by Eden District Council Environmental Health Department.
Co-owner Ashley Phillips added: “We feel that it’s so important to support the local communities, now more than ever. To have a Chippy Van come to your village where you may be locked down and not had a treat like a chippy tea in ages is just the best feeling for both us and the customer!”
Shappy Wheels is a growing brand that is going from strength to strength, despite the current climate.
Matt and Ashley, co-owners of Shap Chippy and Shappy Wheels, took ownership of Shap Chippy in July 2018 and have grown the business into a well known brand across Cumbria and beyond.
