Whitehaven Alive: Björn Again, Boney M and The Real Thing announced as Sunday headliners

Whitehaven’s most talked about event of the year have announced their Sunday headliners.

The Björn Again show will be joined by disco legends Boney M, The Real Thing and Geno Washington on Sunday 10th September at the Mitie Main Stage.

The Internationally acclaimed BJÖRN AGAIN show was founded in 1988 in Melbourne, Australia. The show was designed as a rocked-up light-hearted ABBA satire, the show rapidly achieved a world-wide cult status. ABBA’s enduring appeal is reflected in Björn Again’s ongoing success having amassed 5,500 performances in 75 countries in 35 years. 

Boney M with Maizie Williams will be celebrating the greatest hits of Boney M including their legendry tracks ‘Rivers Of Babylon’, ‘Daddy Cool’, ‘Ra-Ra-Rasputin’ and ‘Sunny’.

The Real Thing enjoyed success in both the 70’s & 80’s with three Top 10 singles. The No 1 Hit ‘You To Me Are Everything’ ‘Can’t Get By Without You and ‘Can You Feel The Force’. They’ll be performing at Whitehaven Alive with original vocalists Chris Amoo and Dave Smith. 

Geno Washington & the Ram Jam Band are an England-based soul band. The band’s album Hand Clappin, Foot Stompin, Funky-Butt … Live! reached No.5 on the UK Albums Chart in 1966, their Hipster Flipsters Finger Poppin’ Daddies which achieved No.8 the following year, they’ll be opening the Sunday at the festival.

Whitehaven Alive will be a celebration of music, lifestyle, and creativity, bringing the town to life 8th-10th September with the very best in live entertainment. Promoters confirmed they’ll be announcing their plans for the major harbourside event village in the coming weeks.
