Treetop Trek has been handed the ‘Highly Commended’ award in the ‘Accessible and Inclusive’ category at the Cumbria Tourism Awards 2019 ceremony.
The management team at the Brockhole site has been working with staff from The Bendrigg Trust and has undertaken significant investment in staff training and specialist equipment to improve the attraction’s accessibility for people with a disability.

All full-time staff have also taken part in Disability Awareness training with The Bendrigg Trust, and were joined by the charity’s Principal, Nick Lily at the prestigious event at Cartmel Racecourse on Wednesday evening (June 19).
Treetop Trek Managing Director Manager Mike Turner says, “Since we opened in 2012 we’ve aspired to be as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. We’ve made some significant investments over the last year to try and broaden that reach even further and it feels absolutely fantastic to have been given this award. I’d go so far as to say it’s the most satisfying award we’ve ever won. We’d like to say a really special and heartfelt thanks to The Bendrigg Trust for all their help. Nick has been brilliant and if it wasn’t for him and his team, we wouldn’t have won this award.”
Established in 2012 in the Lake District, Treetop Trek provides high ropes aerial adventures suitable for the whole family. Its sister attraction, Treetop Nets opened in 2014, which was the first of its kind in the UK and operates an unlimited ‘carer goes free’ policy at all sites.
