Created in collaboration with Kendal College, this fully accredited Level 2 course has been specifically designed to take students on a unique journey, during which they will learn the art of hospitality through a fully immersive hands-on learning programme. Which will culminate in a fully expensed week-long stagiaire at Roganic, Simon’s one Michelin starred restaurant in Hong Kong.
Sam Ward, Managing Director of Simon’s restaurant group commented: ‘’There is a huge misconception in the public eye about what a professional career in FOH really means. Our FOH team helps to build the culture of our company and it’s their job to tell the story to each and every guest, so that they take away a memory that will last a lifetime.
By taking part in this Academy, the next generation of professionals will be taught the necessary skills that will form the building blocks for an exciting career. Training in product knowledge such as cheese, wine, beer, farming, sustainability and food, the psychology of service, and teamwork are just some of the things that we will teach on this course. This is a rare opportunity for people with little or no experience to be taught by the best in the business, culminating in an international trip – I only wish this course had been available to me when I started my training.“
