Storrs Hall on the shores of Windermere will offer a festive afternoon tea feast for non-residents throughout December, served with a side of one of the best views in the Lake District.
The luxurious hotel’s Christmas Afternoon Tea will be available from 1st December to 23rd December and will feature an array of savoury treats with a festive theme, including a turkey and stuffing brioche bun, a shellfish cocktail on treacle bread, crispy camembert with homemade cranberry chutney, pigs in blankets with grain mustard mayonnaise and a smoked salmon blini.
These will be complemented with a host of sweet delicacies, all created from scratch in the Storrs Hall kitchens, including plain and winter fruit spiced buttermilk scones served warm with clotted cream and Christmas jam, a warm mince pie with a Ricciarelli topping, traditional fruit cake wrapped in marzipan and fondant icing, a Santa’s Belly chocolate orange tart and a layered pistachio, raspberry and chocolate cake, garnished with marzipan holly and a choice of tea blends and infusions.
For little ones, Storrs Hall’s Beatrix Potter themed Tiny Tots Tea will be available too – Daintily presented on a little china tea set decorated with the tales of Benjamin Bunny, Jemima Puddleduck, Mrs Tiggywinkle and friends, the tiddly tea features goodies including bunny and star shaped sandwiches filled with ham and cheese, a slice of flaky pastry sausage roll, chocolate dipped strawberries and marshmallows, mini chocolate and lemon fairy cakes and a diddy cream-filled chocolate éclair complete with sprinkles, served with a choice of either homemade fruit milkshake, or hot chocolate topped with whipped cream.
