Thor, the Boxer-cross-American bulldog came with Eden Animal Rescue Centre staff to say a big thank you to the team at Arturo Lounge café bar in Penrith for their fundraising.
The café bar opened on December 6 last year in Brewery Lane and donated a percentage of their takings for the first month to the local animal charity.
Arturo Lounge General Manager, Erkan Seker and Community Representative, Jacki Brown presented a cheque for £1894.10 to Thor who has spent almost half his life in the Eden Animal Rescue Centre kennels, waiting for a good, new home.
Manager of Eden Animal Rescue’s centre, Sarah Bean said: “We are so grateful to everyone at Arturo Lounge for helping to raise this money, to help build our new kennel block.
“The new block will provide a home for dogs like Thor who are waiting for someone to give them a new home. He is such a loving, friendly dog who loves cuddles. He is around 2 years and 2 months old and has been with us for over 311 day – 10 months. He loves people, playing and walks and is so happy to see us when we go into his kennel in the morning.
“Until he joins a new family, he will stay with us at Eden Animal Rescue. When we get dogs like Thor, we need the space, resources and accommodation to care for them, which is why we need our new kennel block
“Every donation makes a positive difference to our appeal, and we are grateful to supporters like the team at Arturo Lounge which is a dog friendly café bar and who have pledged to support us with more fundraising events including a bingo and quiz night at the venue.”
