The Rebuild Site, Carlisle, a surplus construction materials reuse hub, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Amy Dixon as the newest edition to their team, in the role of Part-Time Community Officer.
With operations firmly established at Kingmoor Park in Carlisle, Rebuild is planning to extend its coverage to West Cumbria and beyond. The strategic move to appoint a Community Officer is a testament to their commitment to fostering community connections and collaboration, raising carbon awareness, and enhancing the overall well-being of the residents in the Carlisle and West Cumbria area. Rebuild plans to broaden the range of services on offer to further demonstrate how adopting circular economy practices is part of the solution to address the global climate crisis, and importantly also benefit local communities and businesses at the same time.
Amy, a dedicated and enthusiastic professional, brings a wealth of expertise in community engagement, project coordination and workshop facilitation. As the Part-Time Community Officer, she will play a crucial role in organising and overseeing various community-driven initiatives within the Rebuild Site’s dedicated community spaces.
One of the key responsibilities of the Community Officer will be to organise workshops that cater to the diverse interests and needs of local residents. These workshops will cover a wide range of topics, including skill development, education, and sustainable and circular activities. In addition, Amy will actively support ongoing community projects facilitated by The Rebuild Site. This includes collaborating with local organisations, businesses, and individuals to ensure that our community projects thrive.
Maisie, Director of the Rebuild Site, expressed enthusiasm about the positive impact Amy is expected to bring to the community, stating, “We are excited to welcome Amy to the Rebuild Site team. With her passion for community development and previous experience, we are confident that she will enhance our efforts to create a vibrant, connected and low carbon community here in Carlisle and for our new depot planned in West Cumbria.”
