Paragon Veterinary Group in North Cumbria has welcomed the provisional findings published last week by the Competition and Markets Authority following its investigation into the veterinary market.
The CMA report highlighted the need for increased transparency in pricing, ownership and regulation within the sector — recommendations that Paragon Vets strongly supports.

The practice recognises that costs — especially for medications — can be a source of frustration for pet owners.
Mr Lewis added: “Explaining why we have larger overheads than online pharmacies isn’t always easy, but we are always happy to discuss this openly and can provide written prescriptions where appropriate.
“We regularly review our charges to ensure they remain fair and reflect the time, skills, expertise and equipment required to deliver quality care.”
Paragon Vets recently underwent inspection by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and remains committed to meeting the highest clinical standards.
