With 58% of small businesses reporting a cyber breach/attack in the last 12 months*, Cumbria Tourism has teamed up with Armstrong Watson to help the county’s tourism, hospitality and leisure business access solutions to improve their cyber security.
As the county’s Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP), Cumbria Tourism has announced Armstrong Watson as its official Cyber Security Solutions partner – enabling it to offer tourism businesses tailored solutions to help safeguard their digital assets and customer data.
Gill Haigh, Managing Director of Cumbria Tourism, said: “We know small businesses can feel particularly susceptible to cyber threats including phishing emails, online hacking and ransomware attacks.
“This new collaboration with Armstrong Watson is all about ensuring tourism operators have access to the best cyber security expertise and resources available.
“As trusted business advisers in the region, they are well-placed to support our member businesses and offer solutions to help protect them against the increasing threat of cyber-attack.”
Armstrong Watson offers a wide range of cyber security solutions and can tailor a package to suit the needs and budget of every business, from small independent hotels, restaurants and cafes to larger leisure groups and travel agencies.
Cyber security solutions include free vulnerability scans to pinpoint weak spots that could expose businesses to cyber threats, complimentary dark web reports, compliance and regulatory support, and tailored training programmes to educate staff on recognising suspicious activity and following best practices for data security.
