New arts and culture newsletter for Cumbria hits 1k subscribers in first few weeks

A newsletter dedicated to showcasing Cumbria’s vibrant arts and culture scene has attracted over 1,000 subscribers in the few weeks since its launch.

Curated Cumbria’s free weekly selection of articles and listings drops into subscribers’ inboxes every Wednesday. It covers everything from live music and theatre to visual arts, literature, and family-friendly events across the county.

The newsletter’s mission extends beyond simple event listings. It aims to shine a spotlight on the people, places, and performances that contribute to Cumbria’s rich and diverse creative landscape.

Recent articles have included an exclusive interview with Andy Smith, one of the founders of Kendal Calling, profiles of local artists, and a bespoke theatre review.

The project is a collaboration between Cumbria Arts & Culture Network and Intro.

Nick Turner, co-founder of Intro, is delighted with the response to the newsletter. “To get over 1,000 subscribers in a few weeks is a great start and judging by the feedback we are getting I am sure Curated Cumbria will continue to grow rapidly,” he said.

Kate Parry, director of Cumbria Arts & Culture Network, believes the weekly newsletter will have an important role to play in raising the profile of the cultural sector in the county. “There are so many great artists and events happening around Cumbria and a weekly overview of what’s happening and coming up will be invaluable,” she said

“It’s easy to miss events when you live in such a big, rural county, so I’d encourage signing up to this new newsletter to get regular updates.”
