A rapidly expanding home builder has underlined its ambitions for further growth by creating more than 25 new job opportunities.

Genesis Homes, which was founded in 2017, is on course to reach its target of building 200 homes a year during 2022 and to help it achieve its goal it is creating 26 new jobs in the communities it serves.

Among the job opportunities are eight apprenticeships in bricklaying and joinery at developments in Carlisle, Kendal, Penrith and Workington, as the company delivers on its commitment to help local young people forge careers in the building and construction industry.

Other positions include senior and assistant site managers, senior and junior accountants, sales advisors, sales administration, graduate technician, town planning assistant, site construction operatives and telescopic handler operators.

Genesis Homes Managing Director Nicky Gordon (pictured) said: “We want to continue to grow and invest in our communities, and we are delighted to be in a position to be able to provide career opportunities for people living in the local area.

“As a high growth business, we need excellent and well-trained colleagues to help us achieve our goal, and we’re well aware that there is so much talent across Cumbria.

“As a company, Genesis Homes is particularly passionate about creating employment opportunities for young people and we are committed to investing – both in terms of finances and time – into starting them on their journeys to a long career within the industry.

“By providing training opportunities, we can ensure the future of the industry is secured for years to come and that the next generation of construction workers are the best they possibly can be.”

Genesis Homes is in the process of finalising a partnership with Lakes College to deliver its training programme from their facilities in west Cumbria.

Since being formed just under five years ago, Genesis Homes has completed housing developments in Wigton, Brigham, Burgh-by-Sands, Cumwhinton and Armathwaite.
