A land and estate agency has strengthened its agricultural team with the appointment of a new land agent.
Sam Deaville, 26, has joined C&D Rural to support clients on a wide range of rural property and land management issues, including farm valuations, estate management and rural consultancy services.
His appointment forms part of C&D Rural’s ongoing growth plans and reflects increasing demand from landowners, farmers and rural businesses seeking specialist land agency advice.
Sam said: “I’m looking forward to broadening my understanding of agriculture by working with the expert land agency team here at C&D Rural. There is a lot of variety from one day to the next, and I’m enjoying developing my knowledge of different aspects of the job from land management to planning applications to forging relationships with clients.
“I’m excited to be joining a well-respected, family-run company which has its clients and staff at the heart of all it does. It’s great to be working with farmers and landowners across the region and helping them maximise the value of their assets.”
After completing a Rural Enterprise and Land Management degree at Harper Adams University, Sam worked for a firm in Oxfordshire that specialised in sporting consultancy for two-and-a-half years.
He joined C&D Rural after moving to Dumfries & Galloway when his girlfriend was offered a Large Animal Veterinary role in the area.
Sam said: “We relocated so I was on the hunt for a job, and I landed on my feet when I saw there was a vacancy at C&D Rural. The team is so knowledgeable about agricultural matters, and they’ve all been so friendly and welcoming.”
Founded in 1988, C&D Rural provides a comprehensive range of land agency, estate agency, valuation and surveying services to clients across Dumfries & Galloway, Cumbria and the Scottish Borders.
The firm is recognised for its local knowledge, practical advice and personalised approach to client support.
Managing Director, Louisa Thomson, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sam to the team. As demand for our rural consultancy and land agency services continues to grow, it is important that we keep investing in the expertise and resources needed to support our clients.
“Sam brings valuable knowledge and experience which will further strengthen the advice and support we are able to provide, and his appointment reflects our commitment to helping landowners, farmers and rural businesses make informed decisions and achieve their long-term objectives.”
