The finalists for the prestigious Free From Food Awards (FFFAs) have been announced, with Lakes cake maker Ginger Bakers making the grade with their Gluten Free Mixed Tray Bake Box in the Gifting category.
First launched in 2008, the awards are now a highly anticipated event in the free from calendar, celebrating the very best in free from food and drink. And whilst everyone loves a medal, the FFFAs are so much more than that, being widely recognised for supporting, promoting and actively encouraging both existing and new product development.
There are a total of 28 award categories across specialist areas such as: Breakfast & Morning Goods, Milk Product Alternatives, Breads, Cheese Alternatives, Keto, Savoury Snacking, Confectionary, Desserts & Puddings, Full Prepared Meals and Gifting to name a few.
Being shortlisted is a tremendous achievement in itself and a great accolade for any product, all entries are carefully scrutinised by an independent panel of judges, who are all experts within their respective fields; including product developers and manufacturers, chefs, nutritionists and allergy advocates.
The Lakes team are up against some stiff competition from the likes of: The Celebration Pie Company, Forest Feast, Chocolate Moments, Firetree, and Salcombe Dairy. Now Ginger Bakers have to wait until the winners’ medals are announced on 8th June at a glitzy awards do being held at Royal College of Physicians, London, to find out whether they will collect any plaudits.
