Institute of Directors’ Cumbrian branch will once again cast off on its two-and-a-half-hour annual cruise running the length of England’s largest lake, with the popular evening event planned for 12 July. The much-anticipated cruise will this year feature Barry Leahey MBE, MD of Playdale Playgrounds and Cumbria Businessperson of the Year as a guest speaker.
The cruise offers a chance for Cumbria’s business community to gather and network, strengthening the ties between local businesses and providing a forum to celebrate success while fostering collaboration and innovation. The cruise will welcome IoD members and non-members, their friends, families, colleagues and clients.
Guests will enjoy a Cumbrian buffet and drinks – and the unforgettable sights and sounds of Windermere in the evening. The cruise will commence at 6.45PM from Ambleside Waterhead Ferry Landing, where a welcome drink will be served before launch. The cruise lasts for two and a half hours.
Barry Leahy MBE, guest speaker for this year’s cruise, Cumbria Chair for IoD and Cumbrian Businessperson of the Year said: ”I’m really looking forward to networking with so many like-minded people, showcasing the best that Cumbria has to offer and demonstrating what a great place it is to live and work; and what better place to do this than on Cumbria’s most iconic landmark!”
Richard Dawson, Managing Director of Rathbones Kendal said: “IoD’s learning and networking events are a key part of our sponsorship programme aimed at supporting and nurturing our local business community. The Windermere Cruise is definitely one of the biggest highlights of our year and we’re very much looking forward to hearing Barry Leahey MBE speak.”
Institute of Directors North West has close to 2000 members and organises events in Cumbria throughout the year, including the Windermere Cruise. Rathbones Kendal sponsors IoD’s calendar of Cumbrian learning and networking events as part of their commitment to supporting the local business community and nurturing the next generation of business leaders. Barclays are also kindly joining as sponsors for this year’s Cruise.
Both members and non-members are invited to attend the event. Places must be booked via https://www.iod.com/events-community/events/event-details/eventdateid/12456
