How to get your design on an official festival t-shirt

Could your design be hanging next to these Music on the Marr creations?

The great thing we like about summer is the festival – and as we are now officially in springtime the build-up to the season has begun. And in Cumbria there is a chance to design an official music festival t-shirt – no experience required to enter.

Celebration of artistic talents

I love the way festivals now are not just about the music, and feature a wider range of artistic talents from artisan food to circus performing, poems to puppetry.

In Cumbria Kendal Calling is the big headliner attraction, however there are other music festival, including Music on the Marr which is asking people to design their 10thanniversary logo.

Heading straight to buying your t-shirt before the merch-stand before stocks run out, is something we do – as the festival t-shirt is a tradition of the event. Been there, seen it, bought the t-shirt. So the winning logo for Music on the Marr festival is an important design, which will go on shirts and hoodies.

Still time to get your design entries in

We’ve not got long to get creative, as entries are only open until April 1. Designs must include the MoM logo and celebrate the anniversary.

Full details are available at T-shirt competition on https://www.musiconthemarr.com. Or to receive the MoM logo email triciameynell@gmail.com

Castle Carrock four-day festival

The Music on the Marr festival is a four-day festival takes place in the village of Castle Carrock between July 18 and 21. Organisers have confirmed the final headliners for this year’s show. Cumbrian and North East favourites Hadrian’s Union will kick off the weekend on the Thursday night. And Wigan-based Merry Hell will close the festival on Sunday night.

This year’s line-up is set to have a strong Celtic connection with Scotland’s Blazin’ Fiddles and Tide Lines confirmed as headliners for Friday and Saturday night.

Other leading names in this year’s line-up are renowned Danish duo Andreas Tophøj and Rune Barslund, multi-award winner Martin Simpson, fellow BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winners Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, colourful musical collective Zimbaremabwe and Irish four-piece Lankum.

The not-for-profit festival will also feature a special tribute to patron and folk music legend Roy Bailey, who died in November.
