Holker Hall puts live music on the menu with Shire Yard Sounds

Holker Hall & Gardens are inviting music lovers to enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment to wrap up the summer holidays.

Saturday September 2 will see the Thieving Magpies put their unique spin on classic rock, rhythm and blues classics from 5pm in the unique surroundings of the Shire Yard.

With hay bale seating and a pop-up bar, the yard will be transformed into an intimate and rustic performance space on the night.

Fran Horne, head of visitor services, said: “The Shire Yard is a gorgeous setting to enjoy live music and we’re really looking forward to having the Thieving Magpies perform.

“This is the perfect way to wrap up the holidays before the kids go back to the school and we’re sure the vibe will be spot on for a summer evening.

“What’s more, entry is totally free of charge, so if you’re looking for a low-cost way to spend your Saturday evening, this is just the ticket.”

The Thieving Magpies are a much-loved band who’ve performed all across Cumbria and beyond, with an eclectic set sure to delight audiences of all ages and tastes.

Fell Brewery will also be on hand to keep visitors feeling refreshed with a range of locally brewery beers, plus there’ll be delicious food options to keep tummies full.

As well as coming to enjoy the live music during the evening event, visitors are encouraged to make the most of their day and explore Holker Hall and Gardens.
