Have you ever wondered what an employment tribunal is like?

How would you as an employer handle an Employment Tribunal hearing? Have you ever wondered what it is like?

The claims will be heard by a Mock Tribunal at Penrith Rugby Club at 9am on 5 May 2023 by a Mock Employment Judge sitting with lay members. A day has been allocated and the teams from Cumbria CIPD and Baines Wilson invited people to attend or volunteer to participate!

The employment team at Baines Wilson will show you exactly how an employment tribunal operates and, more importantly, how the decisions employers make and comments made play out in a Tribunal hearing.

The day will follow two connected cases (unfair dismissal and harassment/discrimination) and you will be guided through the legal steps in the claims, case management, the role of ACAS and the final hearing. In addition you will be given top tips on how to prepare for Tribunal and give evidence.

Those attending will even have the opportunity to take part as Claimants or Respondents, witnesses or be part of the Mock Employment Tribunal panel.

With Employment Tribunal claims at high levels and with increasing backlogs, this session will be invaluable for employers, senior managers and HR professionals to attend.

The Hearing has been allocated one day including remedy, if appropriate.

To ensure this mock tribunal is truly representative, organisers require volunteers to play a role in proceedings!

In the Mock Employment TribunalCase Number: 2501666/2023 & 2501647/2023, Blunt First Claimant v Equality Everywhere Limited First Respondent Phoenix Second Claimant v Equality Everywhere Limited and Mr B Blunt First & Second Respondent.
