We all love a crafty lunch, but the team at Heft have taken it a step further by actually putting craft classes and lunch together – for what we reckon has to be the ultimate in crafty lunches!
It’s the perfect excuse to get properly stuck into the build up to the festive season and learn something new at one of Heft’s interactive workshops that’ll inspire your crafty creativity and reward your learning with a delicious light lunch created by chef Kevin Tickle and his team.
Heft’s first creative lunch – Christmas Sugar Craft – is led by specialist artisan cake maker Marianne Yeadon of Kendal’s Bakery at No4, will take place on Wednesday 10 November. On the day you’lllearn how to create a festive posey which you’ll be able to decorate your showstopper Christmas cake this year.
Our second and fourth creative lunches are – Festive Wreath Making – are led by leading florist Samantha Clark of Kendal’s Free-range Floristry, will take place on Wednesday 17 November andWednesday 1 December. On either of the two days you’ll learn how to create a festive wreath fit to grace your front door.
Our third creative lunch – Modern Calligraphy – is led by Claire Gould of Furness’s By Moon & Tide, will take place on Wednesday 24 November. On the day you’ll learn how to create and learn how to write a gorgeously quirky modern calligraphy script with a dip pen and copperplate nib. From initial scratches and swirls you’ll soon be writing beautiful letters, quotes, and flourishes – all in the space of a couple of hours.
Our fifth and final creative lunch – Needle Felted Christmas Decorations – is led by South Lakes based artist Hanne Crank, will take place on Wednesday 15 December. On the day you’ll learn the key techniques of needle felting, whilst creating your own beautiful decorations to hang on the tree. All materials are included, and you’ll also receive a kit to take home.
Each session gets underway at 10am with freshly brewed Red Bank Roastery coffee and homemade mince pies before getting underway. Then as each course gets underway and you start to get in the swing of things, we’ll roll out the mulled wine, but don’t worry we’ll be serving up a light lunch too, so things don’t get too messy, especially as you’ll need to have your creative head on whilst you’re busily crafting your masterpieces.
Whether you’re in a group or alone, our Festive workshops are the perfect pre-Christmas activity – fun, rewarding and guaranteed to provide you with a talking point for the festival period!
Places are limited and must be pre-booked, tickets cost £90 per person, which includes all materials, expert tuition, mulled wine, mince pies and a light lunch.
