Cumbria based hospitality and tourism expert Alison Magee-Barker of AJ Lakes Consultancy was awarded two special accolades at the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAs).

Pink Link is the businesswomen’s network behind the EVAs who to mark their 10thAnniversary introduced the Pink Link Ambassador programme on the night. Alison was announced as their first Ambassador to honour her commitment to female entrepreneurship in the North West, in particular for her instrumental role
There were a total of five Cumbrian winners on the night; Izzy Arrieta of Dean Taylor Bathrooms (Small Business), Amy Bateman of Amy Bateman Photography (Solo Business), Victoria Stott of Victoria Stott Design (Creative Industry), Kirsty Mackenzie of Lakeland Inns (Hospitality Industry) and Alison Magee-Barker of AJ Lakes Consultancy (Training and Coaching). All are now the proud owners of a highly sought after 2019 Enterprise Vision Award.
Michelle Wilkin of Lakeland Retreats (Customer Services) was also Highly Commended for her endeavours.
Alison Magee Barker explained how she felt: “From the very beginning the whole experience has been incredible, especially getting to know so many inspiring Cumbrian women. #TeamCumbria has shown that this County delivers successful, innovative businesswomen. When the announcement was made, I was speechless and to be honest a bit overwhelmed. We’ve all encouraged each other throughout the whole process and I hope Cumbria is proud of all the winners and finalists who have shone a light not just on themselves but on the County as a whole.”

She has arranged various events to increase #TeamCumbria’s profile and to maximise the Cumbrian finalists’ EVAS experience including invitations by MPs Tim Farron and Trudy Harrison to the Houses of Parliament and an Afternoon Tea with The High Sheriff of Cumbria, Marcia Reid-Fotheringham.

This year, we’ve cried, laughed and been awestruck by the excellence of these talented women. They made it harder than ever for the judges who were impressed by their passion, determination and zeal.”
