Following the hotel being awarded a third AA Rosette for the quality of its dining experience earlier in 2019, Rothay Manor is one of the few hotels where guests can enjoy some of the finest dining available in the National Park –right alongside their four-legged companion.

A £1m refurbishment project at Rothay Manor was completed this year, closely followed by AA inspectors describing the hotel’s food offering as being of an“exceptional standard”, resulting in the boost from a two-Rosette rating, to three.

In addition to Rothay Manor’s two dog-friendly lounges, dogs can become posh pooches by dining side by side with their owners in the hotel’s Brathay lounge during both breakfast and dinner times.

After such fine-dining – and when a lie-down is in-order, Rothay Manor boasts eight dog-friendly guest rooms – including its two Classic Rooms, which have either external access or a small enclosed courtyard enabling dogs to enjoy fresh air whenever they want.

Dogs are welcome to enjoy the hotel’s beautiful gardens too, where waste bins are provided. Beyond the gates, there are many dog-friendly walks to enjoy from the doorstep in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. For each dog’s human best-friend, Head Chef Daniel McGeorge’s team creates imaginative and delicious dishes from a three-course a la carte menu described by the hotel as “Modern English”.

AA Rosette inspectors were impressed by Daniel’s traditional menu with a modern twist, highlighting the consistency and balance of flavours as being among the reasons they agreed to increase the hotel’s number of AA Rosettes. Dinner is served every evening between 7pm and 9pm, with the hotel also offering a choice of two tasting menu’s and an a la carte menu with canapes, amuse bouche, and pre-desserts.

Also served each day is afternoon tea (available in the hotel’s freshly refurbished lounges) and a traditional Sunday lunch every Sunday.

Nestled in two acres of private, landscaped gardens, Rothay Manor embraces all the modern-life luxuries which guests expect during a relaxing and traditional getaway in the 21st century with modern amenities, spacious bathrooms, and Noble Isle toiletries.

Dogs are welcome to join guests on their break for just £20 extra per dog, per stay. For comfort however, the offer is limited to two dogs per room.
