The Digital Tech Cumbria programme is bringing together businesses, experts and advisers to celebrate digital technology in Cumbria and to share best practice from key sectors. The Virtual Digital Technology Showcase Cumbria will take place on Thursday 7 October, hosted on the Hopin virtual event platform.
Janet Addison is Business Development Manager for Digital Tech Cumbria: “We’ve created an opportunity for businesses to find out first hand how the latest digital technology could help them. Speakers will cover the big stuff like robotics and manufacturing and there will be insights into card payment technology and online ticketing from speakers at the forefront of these developments. The aim is to have something for everyone, whilst focusing on key business sectors for Cumbria. Registration is open now and we’re keen to attract businesses of all shapes, sizes and sectors.”
The current speaker programme for the Digital Technology Showcase includes Joan Lind (Trybooking), Ciaran Savage (Card Industry Professionals) and Philippa Glover (CNC Robotics) as well as Allen Camm (Made Smarter), Gill Haigh (Cumbria Tourism) and Michael Wigham (Online Systems).
“Hopin enables us to run a virtual event so that people can attend from their offices, involve their staff, make the most of limited time and avoid travelling,” explains Janet. “It also offers the opportunities of a virtual exhibition as part of the event and we have plenty of organisations and businesses already taking digital booths and keen to network with potential customers. There are still opportunities to get involved and we hope that more businesses, in Cumbria and beyond, will take the opportunity to exhibit as well as attending themselves.”
Andrew Armitage of A Digital in Kendal is a Showcase speaker: “The Digital Tech Cumbria programme has already been supporting a wide range of Cumbrian businesses in exploring and implementing digital approaches to their activities,” he says. “The Digital Tech Showcase is an opportunity to see the bigger picture and find out from experts the potential of the latest technology for enabling growth. I hope that as many businesses as possible will sign up to join the event, take advantage of the expertise on offer and get involved in the various online discussions and Q&A sessions too.”
