Award winning Solicitors, Bendles LLP have expanded their family law department, with the recruitment of Senior Associate Solicitor, Emma McGrath. The growth of the team comes after the Family Law team were recently listed in the Legal 500 – the leading guide to law firms and solicitors in the UK.
Emma, who started working for the firm who have offices in Carlisle and Wigton, in February 2022, has been a solicitor since 2008. Her career began as a Legal Assistant, before joining a specialist Family Law Firm in Manchester in 2005 where she undertook her training contract and qualified as a solicitor in 2008. She completed a full-time training contract whilst studying part-time at Law School in Chester.
In 2008, Emma moved back to Lincolnshire and in 2014 she joined a large multidisciplinary law firm where she worked for eight years as a Family Law Solicitor. She was brought into the firm to head up one of their offices and to build up their financial workload. She was one of the first solicitors in the firm to become an Associate and within 12 months was made Senior Associate. Shortly thereafter she was made Head of the firm’s Family Law Department and a Partner.
Emma is also a member of Resolution working towards accreditation in complex financial remedies. She is also a trained mediator.
Joining Bendles growing Family law department, Emma will be advising in all areas of Family Law matters, specialising in Divorce & Financial Remedies.
Emma commented: “I am really excited to be part of the Bendles Family Law team. It is very early days, but I have found the team to be really friendly and welcoming. I have started out with just a hand-full of cases, but am looking forward to helping the department grow.”
