Crosby Granger Architects has promoted Senior Architect Luke Jackson to Associate, recognising his contribution to the leadership, design work and strategic development of the Kendal-based practice.
Luke joined Crosby Granger Architects in 2024 and has since taken a leading role in the management and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects.
His work ranges from sensitive interventions within historic buildings and landscapes to new rural development and long-term estate planning.
A significant part of Luke’s recent work has been the development and implementation of the “Whole Estate Plan” for Higham near Cockermouth.
The plan, which was endorsed in 2025, was only the second Whole Estate Plan to be completed within the Lake District National Park.
Chris Granger, Managing Director of Crosby Granger Architects, said: “Luke has made a significant contribution to the practice since joining us. He combines strong design and technical abilities with the strategic thinking needed to lead complex projects and co-ordinate large consultant teams.
“His work on the Higham Whole Estate Plan has been particularly important, both for the estate itself and in developing an area of expertise in which Crosby Granger Architects is becoming increasingly recognised.
As an Associate, Luke will continue to lead projects while taking on a wider role in design reviews, staff development, client relationships and the strategic growth of the practice.
Luke said: “I am delighted to have been promoted to Associate. Since joining Crosby Granger Architects, I have had the opportunity to lead some fascinating and complex projects, particularly through our work on Whole Estate Plans.
“What interests me most is the opportunity to look beyond an individual building and consider how architecture can contribute to the longer-term future of a place. That means bringing together design, heritage, sustainability, landscape, commercial understanding and the needs of the people who live and work there.
Luke’s promotion expands Crosby Granger Architects’ Associate team to four, strengthening the practice’s leadership structure and supporting the continued delivery of complex architectural, heritage and conservation projects across Cumbria and beyond.
Outside work, Luke enjoys sailing and spending time in the Lake District with his family.
