Are you excited for the start of the premier league? Would you like to create a fantasy football team or already have one? If so, you could help raise money for Carlisle Youth Zone’s real football team while you play!
CYZ have recently started a new intake of seniors who will attend football sessions and train every Wednesday at the Youth Zone from the end of July.
This project provides an opportunity for disadvantaged young people to play with peers, where joining a team outside of CYZ wouldn’t otherwise be accessible due to the cost associated with registration and kit requirements within a league.
Specifically targeted at young people identified as vulnerable, at risk of becoming mixed up in crime and anti – social behaviour, the programme gets young people off the streets and gives them something to do, something to focus on and to be part of a team.
In order to support this initiative and hopefully continue to grow it and attract more kids, Neil McIntyre, CYZ Patron from Kingmoor Park, is running a Fantasy Football league over the coming Premier League Season in which CYZ are looking for people to join at a cost of £5 of which 50% of the proceeds will go to buying kit and equipment for this specific project within the Youth Zone.
The remainder of the funds will go to the prize money pot where the league winner will receive 35% of the money collected, second place 10% and third place 5%.
Money raised via the fantasy league will specifically fund this project and will hopefully help provide the following:
- An end of season trip to a football stadium
- Training kit
- Training bibs
- Water bottles
- Shin pads and boots as required
- Cones, goals etc
- Cover costs associated with volunteer support
For a £5 entry fee into the league you can help give young people something to work towards and help change a life whilst at the same time hopefully take part in a fun and competitive contest where personal pride and bragging rights are worth more than any prize money.
