Carlisle College’s latest initiative, Project: Next Gen, is continuing to inspire the next generation of Apprentices.
In collaboration with regional project partners, Project: Next Gen is designed to address the aspiration gap through a range of inspirationally led content with a different theme each month. Throughout the month of May the theme is focused on Skills and Qualities for Effective Employment.
As part of the project, Carlisle College, along with Cumbria Future Leaders would like to invite you to join them at their upcoming online event. Taking place on Wednesday 26th May, at 4.30pm Live on Microsoft Teams. The workshop aims to help you to discover the key skills required for your future, recognising why they are important and realising how to identify, develop and evidence them.
In the past 12 months, many elements of the employment landscape have changed, and this is set to be a continuing theme into the next few years, the workshop aims to help you to identify what you can do to help yourself succeed in the future.
Andrew ‘Bernie’ Bernard, author of The Ladder will explain why seven identified skills are useful regardless of your career direction or aspirations and how understanding them is key to unlocking your potential. The virtual workshop is open to all those who may benefit from such support and advice.

Carlisle College currently works with over 700 apprentices across 350 local leading businesses, including Pirelli, Story, David Allen and BSW Timber.
The career options and industries available through apprenticeships at Carlisle College is diverse, with an extensive apprenticeship provision of more than 30 programmes including Business Administration, Construction, Customer Service, Engineering, Human Resources, IT and Motor Vehicle, ranging from Level 2 through to Level 5 apprenticeships.
