A Carlisle based business that works with over 50 NHS Trusts and healthcare organisations across the country, including several in the north west, is on the lookout for talented Cumbrian graduates.
Established in 2016, Just R’s mission is to change NHS workplaces for the better so it’s people can truly thrive.
Specialising in innovative marketing, branding and communication Just R founder and CEO Rachael Bagshaw says the company is transforming NHS recruitment, onboarding and retention practices, saving it millions.
And now, due to continuous growth, Just R is looking for talented local graduates to join its 15 strong team.
“Since August we’ve taken on six people, including three graduates, and we’ve moved to new premises in Carlyle’s Court,” explains Rachael.
“We’ve experienced 300% year on year growth and, as our collaborations with the NHS and other healthcare bodies continue to grow, so must we.
“We’re aiming to reach the best home-grown talent by seeking out young people with the right mindset, values and motivations who have the potential to grow quickly. We recognise how hard it is starting out in a career. As a values-focused employer, we provide lots of support and mentoring and we give our graduates lots of opportunities to make a difference and to be the best they can,” adds Rachael.
Design graduate Rosie Mossop was the first to join Just R in August. Carlisle born and bred; Rosie returned home after completing a graphic design degree in Leeds this year. Rosie says she was unsure of local opportunities in design after graduating during the pandemic, especially as many of her peers in larger cities were also struggling to begin their careers.
“I produced a website to showcase my work and promoted it on Facebook. Rachael responded and very quickly I had started at Just R as graphic designer,” explains Rosie.
“It’s been great to have the responsibility for developing the Just R brand and to work on client campaign branding too. I know I played a part in helping an NHS Trust recruit a whopping 46 nurses in one day, which is an amazing feeling” says Rosie.
Jennie Gilligan, an English literature graduate who studied at the University of Liverpool, started as an intern at Just R in October. She then moved into a graduate rotational position where she will spend a year with various teams within Just R.
“I was ready to come back to Carlisle after completing my degree amidst the pandemic, but I was unsure of what jobs were available” explains Jennie.
“Rachael used LinkedIn to advertise this post. Just from the job description, I could tell I would be made welcome and be supported to learn and grow in my role. I didn’t get that from other jobs I had seen. I will experience different areas of the business and be able to use my writing expertise to create content for campaigns,” says Jennie.
It’s Louise Carr’s first month at Just R. Originally from near Cockermouth, she graduated from Nottingham Trent University in the summer with a fashion, marketing and branding degree. Louise says it was Just R’s proactive and friendly recruitment approach that piqued her interest in the company. As Louise explains:
“On the job training and open discussion in group meetings are things I’ve benefitted from immediately. I am starting to look after clients and I can’t wait to get stuck into my role as a digital delivery executive.”
As for Rachael’s aspirations for Just R, she says:
“We want to provide jobs equal to those found in the best companies in the world, right here in Cumbria. We are a team which supports one another to be their best selves doing fulfilling work, which positively impacts society. This means we have a company-wide commitment to excellence, making this a challenging and a special place within which I hope people are proud to work.
“And, we love our Cumbrian roots and we are committed to nurturing and developing talented, local young people.”
