As the NHS works to catch up on delayed surgeries and treatments, the service urgently need additional donors to help continue to provide vital treatment to patients.
The change in the climate brings an increase in coughs and colds at this time of year, and with COVID still in circulation, we’ve had a larger than usual number of donor cancellations. As a result of these cancellations, blood stocks have been declining in recent weeks.
A spokesperson for NHS Blood & Transplant said: “We know it isn’t always easy but please book an appointment on www.blood.co.uk for now or in the future, and reschedule if you can’t keep it.”
