Cumbria’s Armstrong Watson hosted an event in collaboration with Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to analyse the key elements of the recent Autumn Statement and explain the future impact it will have businesses across the county.
The event, which was attended by business leaders, influencers and representatives from Cumbria’s professional services sector, featured presentations from Jo Lappin, Chief Executive of Cumbria LEP, and Lord Inglewood, Chair of Cumbria LEP. They talked about the importance of keeping the regional voice of business strong and how vital it is for public and private sectors to work together for stronger collaboration, fuelling Cumbria’s desire for competitive growth.
Graham Poles, Tax Partner at Armstrong Watson, also spoke about the recent Autumn Statement and how it affects various sectors and industries in Cumbria. He highlighted the opportunities and challenges and spoke passionately about what he believes the impacts of the budget will be for the future.
Graham said: “The Autumn Statement presents complexities for many businesses and it is important that we are able to offer practical advice to business owners on how to navigate the ever-changing tax landscape.”
The event was part of Armstrong Watson’s ongoing commitment to support the growth and development of Cumbrian businesses and the local economy. The firm has provided accountancy and wealth management services to clients across Cumbria and beyond for more than 155 years.
