The wonderful thing about popping into your local cafe is the people you meet, and when we went for a coffee in Bojangles Cafe Bistro in Appleby-in-Westmorland I meet a local artist, Valerie Stamper who will be hosting her solo exhibition in the same venue on Thursday, 27 June.
Former service officer in the Royal Navy, Valarie has retired from military service and relocated with her fellow Naval sailor husband in Hilton in the Eden Valley.

Owner of Bojangles, Yvonne Collins says: “This is the first time we have held an art exhibition in Bojangles, and we are really pleased to be giving a local artist the opportunity to show their work.
“Valarie came in for a coffee and we got chatting and we invited her to exhibit here.”
Valarie says: “I am so excited to have my own exhibition! Thank you so much to Yvonne and her fantastic team at Bojangles for their support! Everyone is very welcome to come along and I look forward to seeing you there.”
