AS the wedding industry falls to its knees there are rays of hope in Cumbria. Wedding Planner & Business Consultant, Annabel Candler has not only won an award recently but is helping two Cumbrian venues launch into the wedding scene.
Weddings by Annabel has recently been awarded Regional Finalist in the 2021 Wedding Industry Awards. TWIA is the only regional and national client voted awards in the wedding industry. It was set up to recognise excellent wedding suppliers and to help anyone organising a wedding find the best suppliers.
Annabel commented “I am over the moon to reach even this level! Fingers are crossed for the finals but this is a win I am more than happy with! Thanks to all my clients who helped and had such wonderful kind words to say!”.
Adapting to the new norm, Annabel has been stepping firmly into another arm of the business recently too. As a business consultant, she is now managing weddings on behalf of two striking venues. Appleby Castle is excited to be upping their wedding presence with her help including the new trend for elopements.
Also on the horizon is a new Lake District venue, Barn in the Fells. The family run farm has a huge and beautiful spot surrounded by fells and round the corner from Ambleside.
“I am so excited for both the venues as it’s a wonderful part of life to be involved with. It’s a great challenge for me and utilises not just my marketing, venue and event management experience but my love of memorable creative events!”
All this is happening as Weddings by Annabel reaches its 10 year anniversary. Created 2010, Annabel wished to make sure weddings weren’t just a ‘tick box’ event but something personal, memorable and designed for the couple. Now this has been expanded to ensuring the wellbeing of the planet is thought of with her collaboration with Natural Cumbria.
