Industry Experts from H&H Land & Estates will discuss new funding opportunities available to farmers and landowners in a virtual event.
H&H Land & Estates will be hosting an online event which will give farmers and landowners the opportunity to discuss and gain expert advice on the latest rural grants and schemes available. This free virtual event will go live on Thursday 25th August at 7:00pm.
The event will cover a range of topics, with the first focusing on the Sustainable Farming Incentive. David Morley, Head of Environment and Conservation for H&H Land & Estates, will discuss the new schemes and grants that are available now to farmers and landowners. He will also take a look forward and discuss the future of farming in northern England and what subsidies are available to support farmers and landowners.

Commenting on the online event, Tim Sedgewick, Director at H&H Land & Estates, said: “There are so many new initiatives available to farmers and landowners and it can be confusing working out which ones you might be eligible for. The aim of this event is to offer clients our expert views on each of the schemes and grants and to help them make informed choices to benefit their enterprises.
“The panel are all experts in their field and know these policies, and the region very well which allows them to support and guide farmers and landowners, and make sure they are utilising every opportunity that is available to them.”
Forestry and Woodland Manager, Sarah Radcliffe (Main picture), will offer advice with regards to woodland planning grants including the English Woodland Creation Offer where up to £10,000 per hectare is available. She will cover the background behind each grant and eligibility criteria, as well as the application process for each. Sarah will also give detail on additional contributions which may be available, such as nature recovery, water quality, reduced flood risk, riparian buffers, close to settlements and public access.
Sarah will also be giving an insight into the Woodland Carbon Code, which is the UK’s voluntary carbon standard for woodland creation projects and allows farmers and landowners the chance to sell the carbon sequestered in your woodland in the form of Woodland Carbon Units. She will also talk the audience through the Woodland Trust MOREwoods and MOREhedges funding opportunities, designed to create new habitat for wildlife across the UK.
The session will conclude with an interactive question and answer session with the panel about any of the schemes and grants discussed and will also give the opportunity for a wider conversation around the future of farming and the Agricultural Transition Plan.
