A ‘Spring Open Exhibition’, celebrating the creative talent of over 70 artists, opens at the EVAN (Eden Valley Artistic Network) gallery in Penrith on Friday 7 April.
The exhibition celebrates the creativity of EVAN’s membership with a fascinating array of artwork including impressive paintings, photography, textiles, and prints, alongside striking sculpture, jewellery, glass, and ceramics, most of which will be for sale.
With 2D and 3D work in a variety of disciplines, the exhibition portrays the diversity within the art of the region. The twice-yearly Open Exhibitions, in spring and autumn, form part of EVAN’s commitment to create opportunities for the network’s members, both established professionals, practicing amateur artists, and emerging talent.
EVAN was created by a group of artists in the Eden Valley who felt the need for artistic development opportunities and promotion within the local area. The network has expanded across north and west Cumbria, creating engagement with art for both practitioners and audiences, and bringing wider benefit to local communities.
The Spring Open Exhibition provides an opportunity for EVAN’s artists to develop new work, present existing pieces, and see a range of their art presented for the local community, fellow artists, and visitors to the region to enjoy. It is a great display of creative talent and a chance to ‘buy local, buy handmade’ and support of local artists.
