A new dining space with a view for guests of The Yan at Grasmere

The Yan at Grasmere has extended its renowned bistro with ‘The Chalet’ – a newly-built dining space with a view – in perfect time for its post-lockdown reopening today.

‘The Chalet’ is a cedar-clad chalet-style dining space which offers a high feature table with views to the west over Helm Crag providing the perfect place for sunset dinners. It seats up to ten people on three separate tables and follows the chic rustic interior design style of The Yan, with wooden walls, exposed steel and slate detailing.

Set at the foot of the fells just outside the idyllic village of Grasmere, The Yan has fast become famed for its comforting menu of exceptional Cumbrian classics and nostalgic British favourites which really make the most of the Lake District’s amazing local produce, with everything made from scratch by Executive Chef Will Manley and his team.

As it reopens today, The Yan is also launching its new Summer menu featuring dishes like LOCAL HERDWICK LAMB AND CHILLI CROQUETTES with pea & mint relish, LANGWATHBY CHICKEN BREAST cooked on the bone with a fricassee of onions, crispy bacon and broad beads cooked in white wine and wholegrain mustard vinaigrette, CUMBRIAN FONDUE made with gruyere, local cheddar & smoked cheese, with sourdough bread, herb roasted potatoes, crunchy cornichons and radish, plus a pickled carrot, green bean and rocket salad and FRESH FRUIT TART filled with custard, berry compote, fresh berries and mint on a zingy raspberry sauce.

The Yan also has a number of single night stays available over the coming months – ideal for locals looking for a mini escape close to home.
