Peaceful Ullswater, November 2020

WE can’t go to the theatre, we can’t meet for a meal with friends, but we can still enjoy the beauty of the scenery and some creative activities!

EVER wondered what top chefs and their teams like to eat? Well, chef Kevin Tickle is about to spill the beans with an exciting click and collect menu that everyone can enjoy in the comfort of their own home.

Anyone who has worked or who works in hospitality will be familiar with the phrase ‘Staff Tea’. It’s that time of day where everyone gathers round the meal table and tucks in together as one big family to enjoy a wholesome meal together, chatting, laughing and above all sharing with each other before a busy service.

‘Staff Tea’ is all about the need for something delicious and comforting, something to boost your energy and keep you going, especially on long dark winter’s nights…

2 Adopt a historic, Cumbria object

Be one of the first to ‘Adopt an Object’ and support a Cumbrian museum.

Keswick Museum is launching a scheme to Adopt an Object for Christmas 2020. Adopt Object packages will be sold in the Museum shop and online, and customers will be able to choose one of a range of local objects to sponsor for a year. 4 Make a Michelin star dinner with our Cumbrian chef

We may not be able to go out to enjoy award-winning food, but we can stay in and try to create it ourselves, thanks to Ryan Blackmore!

Please take a look at the recipes Ryan, of the Michelin Star awarded Old Stamp House restaurant in Ambleside has shared with us.

5 Take a walk in the countryside

We are so fortunate to live in such a naturally beautiful place, and as we enter the second half of lockdown 2.0 we have the space to get out and enjoy the outdoors whatever the weather.

If you have any virtual events or socially distanced activities, you could like us to feature in next month’s ‘Lakes & more’ please email your details to us.
