Scottish vintage, retro cafe culture

On our day out to Comrie we discovered a lovely, vintage cafe for lunch – Tullybannocher Cafe.

This is such a quirky, retro-style cafe where everything is home-baked and made – including the giant scone which is carefully sliced into massive tasty chunks.
We had the homemade soup – pea and home, and carrot and lentils with chunks of homebaked brown bread and butter.

The welcome was friendly, the setting amazing and we just had to take back to our chalet a slice of the monster that was the scone.

When I asked what it was called, it was simple ‘Big Scone’ which the lovely girl behind the counter said: “Saves a lot of time, as you don’t have to cut out all the little individual scones – we just slice off what you want!” And we did want, enjoying a true slice of Scotland!

Just one of our little magic moments while staying at The Four Seasons Hotel in Crieff, Saint Fillans, read more here.
