A Partner at Burnetts, one of the largest law firms in the North, has earned a prestigious mediation accreditation and will now expand the firm’s mediation services.
James Johnston, Partner and Head of Burnetts’ Dispute Resolution team, undertook an intensive training and assessment programme with the highly regarded CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) in London and is now fully accredited CEDR Mediator.
The CEDR Accreditation is internationally recognised as the standard of excellence for mediators and James is now actively rolling out mediation services in Cumbria, Newcastle and further afield, helping parties settle their disputes effectively saving them vital management time, legal costs and buying them the certainty that settlement brings. This accreditation and experience also adds value to Burnetts’ dispute resolution clients, by quickly finding commercial solutions to commercial problems, managing process effectively and facilitating advanced negotiation and effective dispute resolution techniques.
The Burnetts’ Dispute Resolution team already offers a rare trinity of specialisms, with James an authority on commercial litigation and professional negligence, Johnny Coulthard an expert on contested wills, trust and probate and Rob Winder specialising in residential landlord and tenant matters.
