The Lakeland Maze Farm Park, is welcoming visitors to its incredible summer 2021 maze from Thursday July 15, having gone all-out to give 2021 visitors the additional space they crave, whilst creating an exciting 6.5-acre maze theme to symbolise positivity for the Great British staycation 2021.
After many months of UK-wide stress and anxiety, the idyllic rural attraction, based in Sedgwick near Kendal in the Lake District, has aptly created its main maize maze – planted for the first time using GPS technology alone – on a sunflower pattern, that of the ‘happy flower’. This is an uplifting theme, much-needed after many months of lockdown.
Meanwhile, its 1.5-acre mini maze is very busy indeed, themed around a honeybee and comb, to underline the pressing need for enhanced bee love and protection.
The Lakeland Maze Farm Park has doubled its outdoor space, to ensure all visitors feel safe. It has moved its maize into a new field – after 17 years of being in the same place – so all other appealing outdoor activities can be enjoyed in a more open environment.
The Lakeland Maze Farm Park’s footprint is now immense but full of fun. As well as the engaging mazes, which encourage children and adults of all ages to smile from ear to ear, despite getting lost and having to puzzle their way out of 6-8-foot-tall maize crop, there is simply tons more on offer.
Crazy golf, a real fire engine on which to climb aboard and pose as a firefighter, a new low-level balance trail of rope and plank challenges for those aged 7-12, fantastic ball games’ area and two new giant bouncing pillows, are all new-to-do.
The animals have also joined in, seemingly wishing to thrill visitors. This is no better evidenced than in the arrival of a new llama and alpaca cross-breed baby – or an huarizo, as it is scientifically known, when the mum is a llama and the father an alpaca.
Goat kids, born in April, are longing to meet children, as are new giant rabbits. All the usual animals are there to feed, appreciate and stroke, in animal handling activities and demos. Rest-assured that panel maze, go-karts, slide, bouncy castle, indoor tube maze, vintage tractors, pedal toys and indoor soft play are still there!
The Lakeland Maze Farm Park has vowed to retain all in-depth sanitising measures, despite recent guidelines’ relaxations. Outdoor order-and-collect food stations mean no queuing inside the barn, and these are weatherproof, to keep off both raindrops and extreme sun. There are also hand-sanitiser stations all around and all equipment is sanitised on an ongoing basis.
The Lakeland Maze Farm Park should be an exciting place to be this summer and, with all precautions still in place and double the outdoor space, a venue in which families can trust.
Entrance costs £9.45 for adults, £8.45 for children aged 2-15 years and £6.95 for seniors. Family tickets cost £34 for two adults and two children or for one adult with three children. Gates open at 10am, each day to September 5, and close at 6pm. It is advised to pre-book tickets online, to avoid disappointment, as visitors will be given even more space this year.
Thrilling moonlit mazes will be staged on September 25 and October 2 and, after September 5, the park will open on weekends September 11/12, September 18/19 and September 26th, for the normal park and maze experience. This will also be on offer on October 3.
