THE Black Bull, Sedbergh, Cumbria, has been shortlisted in the prestigious Best Pub category as part of the annual GQ Food and Drink Awards 2021 presented by Veuve Clicquot.
The national awards in their 7th year are designed to showcase the very best in British hospitality across the UK, and this year they are even more important than ever, especially after what has been a hugely difficult time for the hospitality sector.
Each year the public vote for their favourites and then a panel of top foodies and hospitality experts have the difficult task of deciding the winners from the shortlisted candidates in each of the 14 categories including Best Restaurant, Best Breakthrough and Best Restaurateur.
This year GQ are determined that the 2021 awards will give the UK’s best restaurants, bars, chefs and hotels all the credit they deserve and celebrate the innovation and talent that continues to set British hospitality apart globally. Not just for making it through the global pandemic, but also for remaining at the top of their game and continuing to deliver first-class service in every sector.
Now the overall winners in each category will be decided by the esteemed panel of judges including Dylan Jones GQ’s Editor-in-Chief, revered restaurateur Oliver Peyton, acclaimed chef James Cochran and leading sommelier Honey Spencer.
The winners will be announced in the August issue of GQ and it is hoped that the awards presentation will be hosted early in July at Nobu, Portman Square, when the winners of each of our fourteen categories will hopefully have the opportunity to be presented with their awards in person.
