Planner and Venue Manager, Annabel Candler, Weddings by Annabel, from Penrith has won Best Wedding Planner for the North West in the 2024 Wedding Industry Awards.
Established in 2011, The Wedding Industry Awards ensure that there is a credible and reliable independent regional and national awards process and events. These are the only client-voted regional and national awards in the wedding industry and the judging panel comprises of over 100 industry experts. Damian Bailey, TWIA Founder, comments:
“We set up TWIA to act as an industry voice offering a third source of advice to anyone organising a wedding. The TWIA logo has become a mark of the highest quality coveted by wedding suppliers all over the country and, most importantly, by couples getting married – A “kite mark” for the wedding industry.”
Annabel, the Founder of Weddings by Annabel which is about to hit its 13th anniversary, said…
“I was utterly shocked and honoured to even be entered into the awards, never mind winning! It’s been a difficult year since I lost my Mum in May. She got me into this industry, having a career in PR and events, and was always my biggest cheerleader. Winning this award is a lovely way to showcase what I can achieve in her absence but with all the wonderful support I have around me.”
Annabel has also established a non-wedding part of the business, Creativise Events, which caters for street events, private parties and such (recently creating Penrith’s Sparkle Event to turn on her hometown’s Christmas lights). She also has plans for podcasting, books, and growing her team of coordinators.
“I have many grand plans and am steadily growing my teams and my venue portfolio. I’m very lucky to enjoy my job as well as work with some fantastic people! In the North West category, including West Scotland and Northern Wales, Annabel is the only Cumbrian based business to win an award. As a regional winner, she has been invited to attend the next stage, the Nationals in London in January.
