Chelsea gold-medal winning orchid specialist coming to Lake's Orchid Weekend

Chelsea Gold Medal Winning Orchid Specialists Burnham Nurseries from South Devon will be at the Beetham Nurseries Orchid Weekend on January 28-29, 2012.

Now in their third  generation of an orchid growing family, run by Sara Rittershausen, they have the widest range of orchids in the UK and specialise in the more unusual orchids as well as the more popular varieties that hook people into loving these fascinating plants. Chelsea exhibitors for over 50 years, they have won 20 Gold Medals for their orchids, which they will be displaying and selling for their second visit to the Beetham Nurseries annual Orchid event.

Stephen Abbit, owner of Beetham Nurseries, said: "We are delighted that Burnham Nurseries are once again taking part in our Orchid Weekend and bringing their special orchids along for our customers to enjoy and buy; it will add an extra dimension to the weekend which will be packed with talks and demonstrations."

For those with ailing orchids, visitors are invited to bring them along to an ‘Orchid Clinic’ and seek advice from the experts; a re-potting service will also be available.

Along with a stunning selection of orchids, there will be talks on both days: at 11am ‘Tropical orchids for Beginners’ and Repotting Demonstration by Chris Channon; at 1.30 Unusual and Easy to Grow Orchids by Sara Rittershausen from Burnham Nurseries and at 2.45 Growing Hardy Orchids by Jeff Hutchings.

The Café will be open serving homemade food. Admission is free
